Fajr Jassem, Vice President of the Arab Basketball Federation, praised the high level presented by the Kingdom of Bahrain in hosting and organizing the twenty -sixth edition of the Arab Basketball Committee, which concludes its competitions today, Saturday, at the Khalifa Sports City Hall with the participation of a group of Arab teams.
Jassim said that the Kingdom of Bahrain succeeded in presenting an exceptional model in hosting the Arab basketball championships, through accurate organization and integrated equipment and the keenness of the comfort of the participating delegations, which reflects the prestigious position of the Kingdom on the Arab sports map.
The Vice -President of the Arab Basketball Federation expressed its sincere thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports and Chairman of the Bahraini Olympic Committee, for his generous sponsorship of the championship and his continuous support for Bahraini and Arab sports, stressing that this sponsorship was the cornerstone of the success of the event and its output in the best possible image.
She also praised the prominent role played by His Highness Sheikh Issa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice -Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, who followed all the details related to the organization and hosting, and contributed greatly to creating the ideal atmosphere for the participating teams and all elements of the game, including players, referees and administrators.
Jassim added: “The competitions have witnessed distinguished technical levels that reflected the development of Arab basketball, and the participating teams also showed a high sporting spirit and insisting on providing their best, which contributed to raising the level of excitement and fun in the tournament that deserved the praise of the fans and followers.”
Jassem appreciated the efforts of the Arab Basketball Federation headed by Major General Ismail Al -Qarqawi, stressing that the federation spared no effort in providing all requirements for the success of the championship in coordination with the Bahrain Basketball Federation, facilitating the participation of the teams, and directing the championship in an honorable manner that reflects the history of the ancient game in the Arab world.
She pointed out that the success of the twenty -sixth edition in Bahrain enhances the position of the Arab basketball championships, which confirms that the joint work between the national federations and the Arab Federation is able to achieve a qualitative shift in the level of these tournaments, hoping that Arab basketball will continue its path towards more development and spread in the coming years.
