The management of the Bahrain Film Festival revealed that it received 686 films from 25 Arab countries to participate in the official competition for the fifth session of the festival, which includes 5 main categories: short feature films, short documentary films, movement films, Bahraini films, and student films after the closing of the application on June 20.
The festival administration indicated that the Film Selection Committee participating in the competition headed by the media professor Dr. Mohamed El -Sayed will start her work in choosing the films participating in the competition in the coming days
In the same context, the festival administration stated that, besides Dr. Mohamed El -Sayed The Film Choose Committee is formed in the competition: Kuwaiti producer and director Abdel Aziz Al -Sayegh, Egyptian producer Mustafa Metwally, Emirati artist Yasser Al Neyadi, director and Bahraini producer Mohamed Farid.
It is planned that the fifth session of the festival, which holds the slogan “Short Films, Great Stories”, will be held by the Bahrain Cinema Club and in partnership with the Ministry of Information during the period from October 30 to 4 November 2025 with the wide participation of Arab and Gulf cinematographers.
In addition to films, it is expected that the fifth session of the Bahrain Film Festival is exceptional in terms of the level of Arab and Gulf cinematic and artistic attendees, and the specialized workshops and seminars aimed at enriching the experience of young people interested in the seventh art.
The Bahrain Film Festival has recorded successive successes through its past four sessions, in which he presented a different cinematic event that adopted young Bahraini talents, taking into account the cinemas as a cultural tributary, which enhances artistic exchange and understanding between different countries and cultures.
