The investigation authorities in the Red Sea decided to refer the captain of the submarine of the tourist trips in Hurghada, known as “Sinbad”, who was drowned during last March, and 6 Russian tourists were killed in the misdemeanor court.
The decision came after the investigation authorities received the technical report prepared from a specialized engineering committee on the causes and circumstances of the accident, and the destinations of the murder and the wrong injury.

Details of the incident are due, when the Red Sea Governorate Operations Center received a notification stating that a tourist submarine was drowned in the marina designated in front of a famous hotel in Hurghada, and it had 50 passengers of different nationalities on board, with 5 Egyptians, the submarine crew- 45 of different nationalities between Russian, Indian, Norwegian and Swedish.
The efforts of the concerned authorities succeeded in transferring 29 injured to hospitals, including 6 deaths from “Russian” foreigners, and the return of the rest of the survivors to their residence hotels after their health improved, and there are no missing.
A specialized technical committee from the officials of the Naval Safety Authority in Alexandria had handed over the investigation authorities a few days ago, its technical report on the technical examination of the submarine submarine in the Red Sea and the statement of the causes and circumstances of the sinking accident of the submarine “Sinbad” and the statement of the accident.
The report included the transfer of the technical committee to the submarine sinking site and the transfer to the marine platform located near the submarine and the examination of the submarine, and the statement of the extent of the company’s commitment to safety and periodic maintenance standards, analysis of the last trip records, review of the Captain’s certificate and crew to know any signs or warnings that preceded drowning, reviewing the papers, technical position and licenses necessary for the submarine.
Likewise, those papers match the realistic state of the sunken submarine, and the initial examination showed that the submarine was not subjected to a direct collision and that they did not move from the marine platform on it.
The prosecution decided to imprison the captain of the submarine for 4 days pending investigations and renewing it for 15 days until the decision was issued to the trial.
