A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Liopulliana in Slovenia, and published in the Journal of Scientific Reports, revealed distinctive effects of some vegetable oils and their components on the growth and regeneration of skin cells, which enhances its potential role in skin care and treatment products.
Vegetable oils and skin health
According to the NewS-Medical website, the skin is the largest member of the body, and plays a vital role in protecting from external factors, such as bacteria and chemicals, and keratinian cells and fibroids play a fundamental role in the skin repair and renewal, especially during the inflammatory response.
Vegetable oils consist of 99% of triglycerides, which include saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, with anti -microbial, infections and oxidants, while the remaining 1% include effective compounds such as vehicles and vitamins, which in turn enhance the health of the skin.
Wide laboratory experience
The researchers tested the effect of a variety of oils, including coconut oil, olives, linden, poppy, pomegranate, velor, and flaxseed – on the growth of fibrous and keratinian cells in a laboratory environment, and the result was that most oils stimulated the growth of skin cells significantly, except for pomegranate seed oil, which showed a clear inhibitory effect.
Oils rich in linoleic acid and Lenolinic are recorded as linseed and velor oils positive results on cell growth, however, it was observed that the effects differ according to the concentration and time; Alpha Lenolinic acid caused high concentrations to inhibit growth, while reinforcing it at low concentrations.
An accurate balance between fatty acids
Although the physiological percentage between the acidic acid and the Linolic in the skin is 3: 1, the study showed that the presence of both acids together may cause a costume reaction that enhances the health of the skin, but high doses negatively affected fibrous cells despite promoting the growth of keratin cells.
Most tested oils have not shown clear effects on the migration of skin cells, which is a vital process for healing wounds, while some acids, such as stericolic acid, showed the ability to slow this process, and some compounds caused cell mass without affecting the speed of gaps, which indicates a complex organizational role in the recovery stage.
The results also indicate the importance of the chemical composition of vegetable oils, especially fatty acids and non -umbrella components in determining their effectiveness on the skin, and while some oils showed a clear ability to stimulate the regeneration of the skin, their effects vary according to the type of cell and focus used.
Despite the promising results, the researchers note that laboratory experiments do not reflect the complete complexity of the human skin, which requires additional studies on animals and humans to verify the effectiveness and safety of these oils in practical use.
