Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanu, Minister of Culture, and team Ahmed Khaled Hassan, Governor of Alexandria, will open the activities of the tenth session of the Alexandria Book Fair, tomorrow, Monday, July 28, at the headquarters of Saint Mark College, and the exhibition activities will continue until August 6, to celebrate the National Day of Alexandria Governorate.
The exhibition is organized by the Egyptian General Book Authority, headed by Dr. Ahmed Bahi El -Din, as part of the Ministry of Culture’s plan to spread knowledge and enhance the principle of cultural justice in various parts of the Republic, by organizing a series of local exhibitions that target all groups of society.
75 publishing houses, representing a mixture of official and private publishing houses this year, will participate in the exhibition, along with a number of sectors of the Ministry of Culture, including: the General Authority for Culture Palaces, the National Center for Translation, the Books and National Documentation House, the Cultural Development Fund, in addition to a distinguished suite for the Egyptian General Book Authority, which offers a variety of its publications in various disciplines at symbolic prices ranging from one and 20 pounds, in order to provide knowledge of all categories Citizens.

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, stressed that the Alexandria Book Fair is one of the important tributaries of the ministry’s plan to achieve the fairness of the cultural service distribution, and to link the citizen to the book and knowledge, based on a firm conviction that culture is an inherent right for every citizen in every governorate, city and village, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to organize this event in line with Alexandria’s cultural and historical status as an incubator for thought and enlightenment for thousands of years.
The Minister of Culture added that the organization of the exhibition at this time, coinciding with the celebrations of Alexandria, reflects the state’s belief in the role of culture in building human and promoting identity, and confirms the ministry’s keenness that major cultural activities are available outside the capital, continuous support for writers and creators.
The Alexandria Book Fair represents a major station in the summer exhibitions series organized by the Egyptian General Book Authority in a number of governorates, after the remarkable successes achieved by Fayoum and Port Said exhibitions, which reflects the state’s vision to empower the citizen of his original right to knowledge and culture.
