Al -Muharraq Club won the title of the sixth and final round of the Bahrain Summer Open Basketball Championship 3×3 after its victory over the “Falcons” team, 17 against 13 points, in the final match that was held at the Al -Muharraq Club hall amid a remarkable presence.
The tour witnessed strong competitions between 18 teams in which they participated in the championship organized by the Bahrain Basketball Federation in cooperation with the International Federation (FIBA), which is held for the first time in the Kingdom with the aim of enhancing the popularity of the 3×3 game and raising the international classification of Bahrain in this accelerated sport.
The tournament comes with a system of six rehabilitation rounds held over the past weeks, as each round witnessed the crowning of a different team, most notably the sword teams, “BS Action” and “Falcons”, then a team marked in two consecutive rounds, which reflects the strength of competition and the diversity of levels of participating teams. These tours allow the teams to collect the qualifying points for the “Quest Final”, which will be held on August 1, which will determine the first champion of the opening championship version.
The final round “Quest” gives Bahrain a seat to participate in one of the stations of the global basketball tour 3X3, the prestigious “master” category, which gives an ideal opportunity for the team that won the representation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in an official global entitlement.
Through this tournament, the Bahrain Basketball Federation aims to open new horizons to develop the game at the technical and organizational levels, in addition to providing an ideal platform for preparing local teams to participate in regional and international championships approved by the International Federation.
