The Lebanese musician and theater Ziad Rahbani died today, Saturday, at the age of 69, after a busy artistic career that affected the modern Arab music and theater, during which he left an unforgettable imprint in the Lebanese and Arab cultural conscience.

Ziad Rahbani, born on January 1, 1956, is one of the most prominent artists in Arab music and the satirical political theater, is the son of Fayrouz and the late musician Assi Rahbani, and he grew up in a distinguished artistic environment that quickly started to establish his own style that mixes artistic depth, black humor, and bold political criticism.

Ziad Rahbani was famous for his plays, which reflected the Lebanese reality in a satirical and smart style, as his works were distinguished by the boldness and deep analysis of society, in addition to his modern music that introduced the elements of the jazz and western patterns into the eastern tone in a pioneering manner.

Ziad Rahbani was known for his clear political stances, and he was one of the most prominent left -wing artistic voices in the Arab world, and made his works a platform that reflects the issues of the Arab person in the shadow of war and social contradictions.
