An Israeli news report revealed that the Israeli army destroyed tens of thousands of relief substances, including food, medical supplies and water, which were dedicated to the inhabitants of Gaza, after it was corrupted as a result of its remaining weeks at the Karam Abu Salem crossing. A military source said: “We buried everything on the ground, and some materials we burned.”
More than a thousand aid truck
The military source pointed out that the expensive quantities are equivalent to what was loaded on more than a thousand trucks, and that there are currently thousands of parcels exposed to damage due to their survival under the sun, and if they are not distributed, they will be destroyed also.
Distribution crisis failing to save the population
Amid the increasing accusations of Israel of deliberately starving the residents of Gaza, the army said that the mechanism for distributing aid “does not work”, noting that during one of the stages of the negotiations to restore the prisoners, 4,500 trucks were allowed to enter, but a large part of the aid remained in the crossings and was not delivered to civilians.
Classified corridors and absent coordination
The military source said that “the mechanism simply does not work,” noting that there are problems in the quality of the roads, and that the field coordination with the Palestinian side is absent. He added: “We have the largest grain store in the area, and if the goods currently exist are not gathered, we will remove and bury them.”
Doubts about the feasibility of air projection
The official also questioned the idea of dropping aid by air inside Gaza, and said: “We tried this in advance, and it was a failed attempt, just like the floating port that was established.”
