With these words, the vision of Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun, which he presented in his extraordinary meeting with the editors of Bahraini newspapers, summarized during his first official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting, which came after a few hours, spanned more than an hour, was frankly, friendly and political, and dealt with the challenges facing Lebanon, the prospects for openness to the Gulf states, rebuilding confidence with the brothers, and the future of the Lebanese state after years of economic and political collapse.
From the leadership of the army to the Presidency of the Republic: a new era formed by the Aoun, who led the Lebanese army in a sensitive stage of the confrontations that Lebanon witnessed between Hezbollah and Israel in the wake of the seventh of October, and over 13 continuous months, and after a presidential vacuum that spanned more than two years and four months, his appointment came as President of the Republic as a new glimmer of hope for Lebanon. Bilateral files to strengthen relationships and President Aoun informed great interest in his upcoming meeting with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country and Bahraini officials to discuss a number of important issues, most notably the reopening of the Bahrain embassy in Lebanon, facilitating the features of the Lebanese entry, re -running Gulf Air, activating economic and agricultural relations, and reopening the Gulf markets to Lebanese agricultural exports. President Aoun called on the sons of Bahrain and the Gulf to visit Lebanon and spend the summer in it, stressing that Lebanon is waiting for them to enjoy Lebanese hospitality, the beauty of Lebanon and its distinguished climate.
The legal weapon only: a decision that does not retract the issue of an exclusive weapon, stressed that the basis of any country is that the decision of peace and war be in its hands alone, and that the army monopolize the weapon.
He said: «The application of the exclusive weapon taken, which is irreversible, is carried out in a manner in a way that preserves the unity of Lebanon, and prevents harm to the people of the people. He emphasized that the Lebanese army is spreading in all regions from north to south, and on the eastern chain and northern party, it controls the land and sea borders, and carry out tasks that include combating terrorism and drugs.
He added that our decision to save the state is final and we will not provide an effort to achieve this, and the page of the past has been folded, the border crossings have become a security holder and the reforms are underway in various fields.
He explained that the army, wherever it comes, does its patrols and shares all the warehouses of weapons and ammunition that are outside the scope of the army, and its duty in the south is fully in cooperation with UNIFEL and with the help of the people of the region who reject all wars.
The sects are a blessing … and the sectarianism is a curse, and President Aoun affirmed during the meeting that “the sects are a blessing, but sectarianism is a curse.” He said, “We believe in religions … but a difference between the fanatic and the believer,” noting that sectarianism is used for political purposes and to feed narrow interests, while at the level of the Lebanese people themselves there is no matter, because “the Lebanese live in a unique social overlap, and there are relations with different sects and a daily daily life between all.”
He added that the Lebanese citizen has loyalty to his homeland not for another thing, and the mixture and wide diversity in Lebanon attest to this.
The Lebanese -Israeli agreement and the geopolitical situation indicated President Aoun, that Israel is still refraining from adhering to the November 26, 202 agreement and continues its attacks on Lebanon, and does not respond to international calls to stop hostilities.
He stressed that any solution that needs guarantees to implement it, especially since Israel did not adhere to the implementation of Resolution 1701 with all its items, while Lebanon adhered to the agreement completely and deployed the army in southern Litani.
Economic reforms: concrete steps towards economic recovery, Aoun pointed out that the current government was able, within 6 months, to complete what was not completed 15 years ago, including the launch of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority, the approval of the bank reform law, the completion of the work on the financial gap law, and the law of raising the banking secrecy.
He stated: “We restructure with responsibility, and we define those who bear responsibility.” He added that this government chooses its appointments on the basis of efficiency and according to a mechanism for appointments, and according to it in the rest of the leadership positions. Bahrain is a guidance member in the Security Council, President Aoun confirmed that the election of Bahrain is a non -permanent member of the Security Council, “the world’s trust is the world’s confidence in it and it will carry Arab issues, including the Lebanese issue to this high international forum.”
A vision of a coming contract: Refining trust is the question of “Al-Watan” about his expectation of Lebanon’s future in the next decade, that he confirmed that he is looking to implement 40-50% of the palace discourse that he performed after the oath, indicating his optimism, despite the great challenges, and that the most important thing is to rebuild trust between the Lebanese people, the government, Lebanon and the outside world.
