Walid Jamal Al -Din, Chairman of the General Authority of the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, held today a series of meetings in the city of Nanjing in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, after the delegation moved from the Jandung Province, as part of promoting investment opportunities in the region, and to complete the activities of the official visit to the delegation of the Suez Canal Economic Zone to the People’s Republic of China, which comes within the framework of continuous efforts to enhance international cooperation and attract foreign investment.
Today’s activities included meetings with the leaders of the Soho Global Holding Group and a number of investors and potential partners in the fields of trade, industry and logistical services.
Investment opportunities and hold new partnerships with Chinese companies
The delegation started its activities by moving to the headquarters of the Soho Group, where a meeting was held with the president of the Soho Holdings Group, which is one of the largest investment groups in China, which works in various sectors, including the Bulk Commodities Trade, manufacturing, logistical services, and international trade, where the company succeeded in expanding in Asia, Africa, and South America, and intends to be its next step in Egypt, by being inside the economic zone of the Suez Canal through three sectors, namely: textiles and clothing, tire manufacturing, and components of equipment and machinery (hardware). For his part, Walid Jamal Al -Din welcomed cooperation with the group, and confirmed his support for the group in all stages of implementation of projects.
In the aftermath, the region’s delegation participated in an expanded symposium entitled: Investment for the future: visions and opportunities in the economic zone of the Suez Canal, which was organized in cooperation with the Soho Group and a number of Chinese local authorities, and the symposium witnessed the presence of 180 representatives of the various companies of the Soho Group, representatives of export and commercial import rooms, representatives of the textile rooms in the province, and representatives of all companies Textiles and clothes, where the available capabilities within the economic zone were reviewed, and the incentives they offer to investors, in addition to existing and future projects in various industrial and service sectors, and in the wake of this symposium a dialogue session was held with all participants to respond to the inquiries of Chinese companies, which showed great interest in investing in Egypt and the economic zone of the Suez Canal.
In his speech during the symposium, Walid Jamal Al -Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, stressed that the authority seeks to provide an integrated investment model that combines industry, services, logistics and clean energy, supported by a unique geographical location on the banks of the Suez Canal linking the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, and indicated that this model is based on a strong infrastructure, a system of investment incentives, a wide network One of the free trade agreements, which makes the region an ideal platform for manufacturing and export to regional and global markets.
The delegation concluded its agenda in Nanjing by participating in an expanded meeting entitled: logistical cooperation across the border between China and Egypt – ICDF, with the participation of a number of international and Chinese parties active in the fields of e -commerce and logistics, and the meeting began with a welcome speech delivered by Irene Pivitte, the honorary president of the European -Chinese Cooperation Center, and the President of the Italian China Development Foundation (ICDF), which during her speech indicated to some It was achieved by the economic zone from progress in all industrial and logistical fields, in addition to developing ports during its visit, in which she followed all the ongoing projects.

The meeting also witnessed the participation of representatives of the Electronic Trade Trade Association in Nanjing, where Liu Yogan, Secretary -General of the Association, delivered a speech in which he affirmed the interest of Chinese companies to enhance cooperation with the Egyptian side, especially in light of the support of the economic region from a supportive investment environment And a unique strategic location.
