The Chamber of Tourism Companies sent a letter to all tourism companies, regarding the recent decisions of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, at its last meeting, which was on June 30, 2025.
The decisions include the abolition of equality between Arab and Egyptian tourists in the fees for visiting archaeological sites starting in January 2026.

Earlier, Cairo, 24 of its sources, said that Dr. Mohamed Ismail, Secretary -General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, issued a decision to cancel the equality between the Arab tourist and the Egyptian citizen in the fees for entering the archaeological areas and museums, as of January 1, 2026.
The decision indicated that during the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, held on June 30, 2025, it was approved to cancel the previous decision issued on September 28, 2002, which stipulated the unification of fees for entry of archaeological attractions between Arabs and Egyptians.
The Council affirmed that the new decision came in light of the variation of income levels, and based on what is currently being worked out in the Grand Egyptian Museum and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, where the drawings between Arab and foreign nationalities are unified.
