Australian rights organizations have launched an urgent warning to parents about the spread of electronic games on the famous Steam platform, including shocking scenes that mimic crimes of incest weight and sexual assaults against children, according to the British Daily Mail.

According to Collection Shout, a societal campaign focused on anti -sexual exploitation in the media, a simple research on the Steam platform for the word rape of more than 232 results showed, while the search resulted in 149 games for thugs, including games that allow players to commit sexual assaults on virtual personalities inside digital cities, or installed secret cameras to photograph women inside their homes.
“I thought I was no longer surprised by anything, but what I saw was terrifying, it is disgraceful for major companies to allow this content on their platforms, these games are not only underestimating the suffering of the victims, but deviant behaviors are printed in the minds of the players, especially young people, which may make them more likely to imitate these behaviors or coexist with psychological harm silent.
For his part, Dr. Michael Salter of the University of New South Wales confirmed that these games contribute to normalizing sexual violence within active sub -cultures on the Internet, and pointed out that the developed companies are working on international platforms that are not directly subject to Australian laws, which increases the difficulty of organizing them.
Treating payments for gaming platforms
Humphrez and Sloter also signed an open message addressed to major payment companies, such as PayPal, Visa and Mastercard, asking her to stop processing payments for gaming platforms that host offensive or illegal contents.
In a partial response, Steam’s operating company has recently modified its policies, adding a clause prohibiting the content that violates the standards of the processing authorities for payments, including immoral content related to children or extremist behaviors.
The Steam DB database monitored a large number of games in the last hours, most of which are of an unethical simulation and include major words such as INCEST and Bondage.
A spokesman for the payment companies such as Paypal and MasterCard, their adoption of a strict policy against any illegal activity, confirmed, while some companies announced the opening of investigations into the aforementioned games.
In a related context, Salter warned of disturbing behaviors that appear on virtual reality platforms, where children’s interaction under masks and symbolic images with real adults is observed, without sufficient controls to protect them, and stressed the importance of parental control and open discussion with children about the nature of the content they are exposed to, saying: It is necessary for the child to understand that his actions on the Internet are not separate from reality, and that it has real consequences.
