The Directorate of Youth and Sports in Damietta, led by Mohamed Fawzi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will launch the activities of the Damietta Open Chess Championship, with the participation of a number of youth of the province, tomorrow, Monday, July 21, at the headquarters of the Youth Development Center in the new city of Damietta.
The championship activities start with an opening initiative between Dr. Ayman Al -Shihabi, Governor of Damietta, and Dr. Mohamed Fawzi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the championship activities include wide participation by the youth of the province.
Dr. Mohamed Fawzi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Damietta, stressed that this tournament comes in line with the Ministry’s vision regarding the polarization of young people with their various hobbies, noting that the Damietta Open Chess Championship came with the aim of developing the various skills of young people, especially young people.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Damietta explained that the participation of governorate officials in the activities of the tournament launching a clear message to support young people inside Damietta, stressing that the chess championship is expected to be circulated as one of the permanent activities within the youth centers at the governorate level.
Fawzi pointed out that the Directorate of Youth and Sports always adopts those initiatives that will develop the various skills of young people, explaining that there is a comprehensive program for many regulations that are launched during the next stage in the various cities of the province.
