The management of the Port Said International Film Festival, headed by film critic Ahmed Asr, announced the selection of the great director Ali Badrakhan as head of the festival’s Supreme Consulting Committee in its first session that kicks off from 18 to 22 September in Port Said, which bears the name of the great star Mahmoud Yassin.
For his part, Ahmed Asr explained that the presence of the great director Ali Badrakhan is a real addition to the festival due to his long cinematic history and his artistic career that influenced Egyptian and Arab cinema, where Badrakhan is one of the pioneers of the film directing and the owner of an artistic and human vision that inspired many generations of creators

Badrakhan graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema, the directing department in 1967, and his artistic career began as an assistant to director Youssef Chahine before presenting a group of the most important films that became immortal signs in the history of Egyptian cinema, among them the love that was, compassion, Metwally, the people of the summit, hunger, whims and desire, along with many important documentary and television films and his participation in writing the script.
During his career, Badrakhan won many high -level prizes and honors, most notably the direction award from the Cairo Film Festival for the movie People of the Summit, the Best Film Award in a number of Arab festivals for the hunger movie, a special honor from the Alexandria International Film Festival, and the honor of the Cairo International Film Festival for its entire work, and the State Appreciation Award in Arts, as well And international.
Badrakhan was also known for his great efforts in supporting new generations of cinematographers through workshops and seminars that contributed to refining youth skills and qualifying them for a professional professional future.
The management of the Port Said Film Festival expressed its pride in taking over the director Ali Badrakhan, the chairmanship of the Supreme Consulting Committee, noting that his extensive experience and artistic vision will push the festival to become a strong platform that contributes to supporting cinematic creativity and providing new talents worthy of the future of Egyptian and Arab cinema.
