BFM TV reported that today, Thursday, a French court sentenced the Lebanese George Ibrahim Abdullah after spending nearly 40 years in prison on charges of attacking diplomats, one of whom is American and the other is Israeli in France.

The former commander of the “Lebanese Revolutionary Armed Guaard” was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1987 for its role in the assassination of the American military attache Charles Ray and the Israeli diplomat Yakov Parsimmentov in 1982 in Paris, and the attempt to assassinate the American Consul General Robert Home in Strasbourg in 1984.

No comment has yet been issued by the Court of Appeal officials, according to Reuters.
