Axius reported, quoting an American official, that the administration of President Donald Trump asked Israel to stop its attacks on the Syrian army in southern Syria, especially in the Suwayda governorate.
The official confirmed that Israel pledged to stop these attacks from this evening, Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
This American demand comes in light of the escalation of tensions in the region, as the Israeli army launched raids on Syrian military sites in As -Suwayda, claiming that the movements of the Syrian forces pose a threat to Israeli security, in coordination with the United States, according to an Israeli political source.
For its part, Israeli channel 12 confirmed that Tel Aviv responded to the American demand, as it promised to suspend its military operations against the Syrian forces in the southern region this evening, in a move aimed at calming the situation and preventing escalation.
This development comes amid American mediation efforts in the region, as the American envoy to Syria, Tom Barak, referred to Washington’s involvement with all parties to achieve calm and enhance constructive dialogue, especially in light of the recent clashes in the endosperm that sparked international concern.
