Despite the cessation of fishing … the spread of the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea in the markets

The fish markets in Suez are witnessing a spread of various types of fish coming from the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea, despite the decision of the Lakes Protection and Development Authority to stop fishing until September and October next, which poses a threat to fish wealth and threatens the growth of young fish.

Mohamed Mahmoud, one of the fish sellers, told Cairo 24 that a number of fishing boats are currently working on fishing in the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea, and hunting the Harid, shrimp and other types.

He added that despite the availability of these types of fish in the markets through these violating boats, this will harm everyone in the future, because the hunting period aims to give the sea biological comfort that allows the growth of seed and small fish.

One of the fishermen – who declined to be named – explained that he uses a small boat to enter the Gulf of Suez through one of the public beaches, and the window is raised in the sea to hunt fish, saying: There is no trick with a trick .. This is a source of livelihood and eating my livelihood.

He pointed out that the Gulf of Suez witnesses the presence of dozens of boats belonging to the major merchants, adding: I am satisfied with hunting limited quantities every 3 days to spend on my family, as large boats hunt huge quantities and sell them in the markets and major restaurants.

A source in Suez Governorate told Cairo 24 that the concerned agencies are following the water surface in the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea to prevent boats from hunting during the annual stopping period, and legal measures are taken towards violators.

The source pointed out that the owners of the violating boats resort to going to hunting in the Gulf of Suez from the areas of Abu Zenima, the Literature, and some villages and beaches in Suez and the eyes of Moses.

The source confirmed the commitment of the bodies concerned with the decision of the Lakes and Development of Lakes and Fish Resources to stop fishing from April 15 to September 15 for the traction craft, and to October 11 for the Shankula craft, in order to preserve the fish wealth.
