A quarter of a century of continuous work, institutional effort, and a clear strategic vision, in which the Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved a qualitative shift in the concept of security and service work, transgressing traditional tasks to more comprehensive and communicable roles in society and its needs, since the adoption of the provincial system in 1996, and it began to work in the following world, the ministry has established an advanced model of integration between the security and administrative services, within the framework of From governance, digital transformation, and community partnership.
Correcting the march of 25 years of work, qualitative achievements have emerged in all governorates of the Kingdom, police directorates and affiliated departments, reflecting the extent of commitment to the vision of the rational leadership in enhancing security, achieving active response, and providing services according to the finest international standards.
Below, the most prominent efforts and results achieved over these years, which are today a solid basis to continue the development process in various security and service sectors, according to a report issued by the official account of the Ministry of Interior.
Capital Governorate
The Capital Governorate is the first governorate of the Kingdom, as it was officially established in 1997, and witnessed a remarkable development in its services and interaction with citizens, as it provided 20 various channels of communication with the people, through which it received 740 complaints and proposals through the “Tawasul” program, and also launched 41 societal initiatives to enhance communication and solidarity, in addition to implementing 14 awareness campaigns. The province’s efforts were crowned by winning the “Steve International” award for the customer category in 2020.
Muharraq Governorate
Al -Muharraq Governorate played a pivotal role in following up the projects of the development plan and the coordination of services for citizens, as it adopted 5 effective channels for communication, and dealt with 460 complaints and proposal through the “Tawasul” program, and 7 community initiatives implemented, and organized 9 awareness campaigns that included various segments of society.
The governorate was distinguished in the health aspect, where the Busaitin and Al -Sayan regions were adopted as health cities in 2023.
The southern province
The southern governorate witnessed qualitative achievements at the security and development levels, by activating 23 channels to communicate with the people, receiving 109 complaints and proposals through the “Tawasul” program, in addition to implementing 30 community initiatives that reflected direct interaction with citizens, and organizing 39 awareness campaigns.
The governorate won the Excellence Award for Electronic Government for the year 2024, in addition to winning the Bahrain Digital Content Award in the same year.
Northern Governorate
The Northern Governorate contributed to strengthening social, educational, health and sports services, through 9 effective communication channels, during which 1570 complaints and proposals dealt with the “Tawasul” program.
The governorate launched 112 societal initiatives, in addition to implementing 4 awareness campaigns, and the “high” area was approved as a healthy city in 2023, in a move that reflects its interest in the quality of life for citizens.
Capital Governorate Police Directorate
The Capital Police Directorate contributed to the maintenance of security and public order, by starting 99,379 reports during three years, and 2545 educational and guidelines carried out to enhance the security culture, and family protection offices recorded 4,539 reports in the same period. The Directorate has emerged as the first government agency to obtain the “adoption of the diamond level” as a place of health action in 2023, in addition to applying the full electronic transformation in its transactions, and activating the principle of community partnership.
Northern Governorate Police Directorate
The Northern Police Directorate has worked around the clock to ensure security, as it dealt with 61315 reports within three years, organized 1168 educational and guidelines, and family protection offices received 80 reports.
The Directorate was keen to develop the experience of auditors by implementing the appointment system in security centers, and adopting full digitization of transactions, as well as consolidating the community partnership.
Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate
Al -Muharraq Police Directorate continued its distinguished security performance, as it received 34447 reports within three years, and launched 9194 awareness campaigns, and was interested in building the capabilities of its cadres by entering 149 members in specialized training courses, and the office of security readiness and quality guarantee was established, and the system of digital transformation and community partnership.
The Southern Governorate Police Directorate
The Southern Police Directorate has achieved prominent achievements over the past three years, as it dealt with 44,504 reports, carried out 299 awareness campaigns, and family protection offices recorded 5226 reports, as well as the QR service to explore the opinions of the auditors, and activated electronic transformation and community partnership.
Coast Guard command
The role of the Coast Guard emerged in maintaining maritime security, as it dealt with 1171 naval violations, carried out 1087 search and rescue operations, and dealt with 213 sea accidents. 245 members participated in 30 training courses, and 20 awareness campaigns were organized with the aim of raising maritime awareness.
National Ambulance Center
The national ambulance was distinguished by its quick response to 246332 reports within six years, through 12 centers and 4 points covering the Kingdom, and 86 training programs were organized for the associates, in addition to adopting smart ambulance systems, and working to launch the air ambulance service soon.
Police aircraft
Police aircraft played a vital role in security and humanitarian support, as its flying hours reached 30,000 hours in 20 years, of which 913 sorties were only in 2024.
A contract to purchase multi -task helicopters was signed, in addition to the introduction of searches, rescue and advanced security cameras.
Operations Management
Operations Department provided a role model for a quick and effective response, as rescue patrols began 157827 reports within five years, and the reporting center received 805713 calls.
3 phone lines were allocated to the deaf and dumb, in addition to the implementation of 195 training courses in which 470 participants participated.
These efforts were crowned with the management of the Excellence Award for Electronic Government for the year 2024.
Advanced concept of comprehensive security
What was achieved during 25 years of work in the Ministry of Interior is not just numbers and achievements, but rather an ambitious national vision, and a living evidence of the efficiency of national cadres and their ability to face challenges and achieve aspirations, as the ministry has established through its various departments, directorates and governorates, an advanced concept of comprehensive security, which is not limited to preserving the system, but exceeds it to include sustainable development, societal interaction, and innovation.
With the Ministry entering a new stage of institutional work, which continues to enhance its vital role, based on an advanced infrastructure, trained human competencies, and active partnerships with society, to be responsible for protecting lives and property, supporting Bahrain’s stability, and contributing to raising them among nations.
