The Guardian newspaper reported that 60 British Labor Party deputies sent a message signed to British Foreign Secretary David Lami demanding immediate recognition of the Palestinian state.

The newspaper said that the message is signed by 60 members of the UK Labor Party, which reflects the presence of a strong current within the party that pushes the change of British policy on the Israeli -Palestinian conflict.

Representatives urged the British government to formally recognize Palestine as a sovereign state without delay, stressing that this recognition will support peace efforts and in line with international law.

This demand came in light of the escalation of tensions and violence in the region, and the increasing international pressure on Western governments to take a clearer position on the State of Palestine.

So far, the British government has maintained a cautious position, supporting the two -state solution, but it has not officially recognized Palestine.

This comes, while diplomats announced that the United Nations conference sponsored by France and Saudi Arabia to work to achieve a two -state solution between Israel and the Palestinians was postponed to July 28 and 29.

The conference was scheduled to be held from June 17 to 21 in New York, headed by a joint presidency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France, but it was postponed against the background of the escalation in the region in June, especially in connection with Israeli attacks on Iran.
