Luxor Health intensifies external survey teams on the occasion of the International Day of Chronic Diseases

The Directorate of Health Affairs in Luxor Governorate, in conjunction with the world celebration of the International Day of Chronic Diseases, intensified the activities of external survey teams within the presidential health initiatives, with the aim of enhancing health awareness and early detection of noncommunicable diseases.

Initiative teams roam health departments for early detection and community awareness

Dr. Ahmed Abu Al -Atta, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Luxor, announced that the field teams were present in a number of vital sites, including the Bayadiyyah administration in front of the Institute of Antiquities in Naga Abdulaziz, the Nadafin Unit, and the Al -Mudda’a unit, to provide free examination services to detect chronic diseases and kidney disorder, as part of the Directorate’s efforts to reach citizens in their gathering places.

The activities included organizing educational seminars within the basic care units and hospitals participating in providing initiative services, with a focus on raising awareness of the risk factors related to chronic diseases and ways of preventing them, in multiple areas such as Al -Adisat Bahri, Hajar Al -Mars, and Al -Nasafin.

It is reported that the International Day of Chronic Diseases, which falls on July 10 of each year, aims to increase awareness of chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease, and emphasize the importance of early detection and prevention.

Raising the efficiency of health structure: a plan to develop 15 independent units and offices with the support of the Upper Egypt Development Authority

Eng. Abdel -Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, and in the context of improving the health infrastructure in the governorate, discussed earlier with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, a proposal to develop a number of existing health units in the centers and cities of the governorate.

It was agreed during the meeting to raise the efficiency of 15 health units out of a total of 58 units, in addition to developing 6 independent health offices, provided that the Upper Egypt Development Authority will implement the development operations.

The governor directed the necessity of involving the population unit at the Governorate General Court in the efforts of follow -up and integration within the health departments, in particular in the Armant administration, to improve performance indicators and enhance coordination between the concerned authorities.

The meeting touched on the proposal to operate some health units in the evening periods, in implementation of the 75 ministerial regulations, which contributes to enhancing the efficiency of providing health services to citizens.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ibrahim Ramadan, Director of the Upper Egypt Development Authority in Luxor, in the context of unifying efforts between the executive bodies to advance the health sector.
