An investigation of the Israeli army revealed some details of a “capture attempt”, which was carried out by Hamas fighters in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, which killed the targeted Israeli soldier.

According to a continuous investigation by the army, a number of Hamas fighters left a tunnel, attacked Israeli forces in Khan Yunis, and tried to “Azoulay’s families.”
During the attack, the militants of Azoulay, who was working on a death, were killed in an exchange of fire.
The army added that the gunmen then tried to escape his body, but other Israeli forces in the area shot them, which thwarted their attempt.
Earlier on Wednesday, Hamas’s military wing announced that his gunmen tried to capture the soldier, but “the field conditions prevented this, and they killed him and seized his weapon.”
According to the newspaper “Times of Israel”, Azoulay had already been promoted to the rank of first sergeant, but he later was punished and his rank was reduced to a soldier after escaping from the reserve service in 2024.
But after his death, the Israeli army returned to him his previous rank, according to reports.
