Senior officials of the Taiwanese Ministry of Defense said that Al -Jazeera started its major military maneuvers ever today (Wednesday), which includes simulating attacks on leadership and infrastructure systems before a Chinese invasion.

The first stages of Han Kwang’s annual maneuvers will focus on testing the ability of the Taiwanese army to achieve the decentralization of leadership, in the event of a broken communications attack.

Over the next ten days, the training will expand to evaluate Taiwan’s combat readiness to repel a widespread attempt to seize the island.

One of the senior officials of the Ministry of Defense said: “We are learning from the situation in Ukraine in recent years, and we are realistically thinking about what Taiwan might face … in real fighting,” highlighting the need to protect leadership and communications systems.

The official, who spoke, provided that his identity is not disclosed due to the sensitivity of the operation: “The leaders should think about the problems that their forces may face, and they should transfer them to their subordinates.”

Taiwan views electronic attacks and media misinformation as measures that are likely to precede a broader Chinese attack.

Han Kwang’s annual maneuvers this year will mobilize the largest number of reserve soldiers, about 22,000 soldiers, and will include for the first time the Himars artillery systems manufactured by Lockheed Martin, along with the surface-to-air Sky Surord’s surface missiles.

China is viewing Taiwan, which is subject to a democratic rule as its affiliated, and has intensified its military pressure on the island over the past five years, including a series of war exercises.

Beijing never abandoned the use of force to undergo the island to its control. Any attack on Taiwan may ignite a broader regional war.

With the development of maneuvers, it will include military, sea and air operations 24 hours a day to defend the coast of Taiwan.

The maneuvers will also include the testing of civil defense elements, including the establishment of emergency supply stations, as well as the use of shelters and the shelter in them from the Taiwanese air strikes that Taipei has expanded recently.

China is in silence

On the other hand, China has not shown any strong public reaction yet, but it is closely monitoring the situation, according to “Telegraph”.

The Taiwanese army monitored the presence of 31 aircraft and 7 Chinese army ships in the vicinity of the island.

Jiang Ben, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Defense, described the Taiwanese maneuvers as “just a hoax”, adding: “The weapons published by Taiwan are important, because reunification of the country will not be stopped,” according to the newspaper.

On the other hand, on Wednesday, China imposed restrictions on the export of some resources to eight Taiwanese companies, on the pretext of its involvement in charging dual -use technologies, according to “Telegraph”.
