Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, said that his diplomatic experience over 38 years, including the last 21 months since October 2023, has witnessed sharp and unprecedented developments in the nature of the Arab -Israeli conflict, stressing that what is happening in the Gaza Strip represents a tragic qualitative shift in the level of violence and destruction.

Ambassador Hossam Zaki added, during televised statements, that the current war in Gaza is a “war of genocide” in every sense of the word, according to the definitions of international institutions and bodies, noting that the Israeli killing machine reaps lives on a daily basis in light of the continued brutal aggression, which the world has not witnessed since the beginning of the Israeli occupation.

He pointed out that the conflict today exceeds in its ugliness all the above confrontations, where the scenes of destruction, murder and crimes that rise to war crimes are repeated daily, stressing that there are real human tragedies that occur on the land of Gaza, and the Arab position has not changed towards supporting the Palestinian right, but on the contrary, the popular and official insistence increased to adhere to this right, especially after the last bloody escalation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, which re -shed light on the necessity Serious move to establish an independent Palestinian state.

The Assistant Secretary -General of the League of Arab States stressed that the establishment of the Palestinian state is no only a political choice, but has become a prerequisite for achieving stability in the Middle East, adding: There is no stability in this region without a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, and we are working in the Arab League to support this issue at our maximum capacity.
