Rashid Equestrian Club renews its cooperation to qualify and develop Bahraini knights

Youssef Osama Bouhaji, CEO of Rashid Equestrian and Horse Race Club, stressed the importance of training programs in rehabilitating and developing national competencies in the field of horse racing, in the context of supporting and interesting the club’s supreme body, headed by His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister of the Prime Minister.

He explained that these programs are implemented in cooperation with the British Racing School, which is one of the most prominent and oldest training centers in the field of equestrian, with the aim of providing the appropriate environment and capabilities to raise the efficiency of Bahraini horsemen, and refine their skills according to the highest technical standards, through annual training programs held inside and outside the Kingdom, in a way that enhances Bahraini youth’s demand for horse racing.

This came during the visit by Youssef Osama Bouhji, accompanied by a delegation from Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, to the British Racing School in the United Kingdom, where the agreement to renew cooperation between the two sides was signed, and the agreement was signed by Mr. Youssef Osama Bouhji, CEO of the club, and Mr. Andrew Brathwit, CEO of the British Racing School.

The agreement provides for the renewal of cooperation between the Bahrain Academy of Knights and the British Racing School, with the aim of organizing and managing the training program of the academy, by benefiting from technical, training and consulting experiences enjoyed by the British School, in a way that contributes to the development of the program and raises its efficiency in accordance with the highest international standards.

The visit also included the meeting of Youssef Bouhaji with the Bahraini knights participating in the training program there, where he was briefed on the course of training, which is an extension of the comprehensive program that started its first stage in the Bahrain Academy of Knights.

During the meeting, Bouhaji urged the knights to make the most of this program, in a way that contributes to refining their skills and developing their capabilities, in line with the club’s efforts in building a solid base of Bahraini knights who are able to compete in various international forums.

He pointed out that the expansion of the 2025 training program, by involving a new group of knights, along with Bahraini artistic and administrative cadres, came based on the positive results achieved since the start of the program in 2024, which has significantly reflected on the development of rising horsemen during their participation in races.

For his part, Mohamed Ahmed Al -Naama, Acting Director of the Knights Support Fund, explained that this program comes within the vision of the fund aimed at developing the skills of Bahraini knights, and enabling them to acquire wider experiences, through the launch of an expanded training program aimed at sponsoring an elite of the knights who were chosen based on their distinguished results in the local program held at the Bahrain Academy of Knights during the period from October 15, 2024 to February 28, 2025.

Al -Nama added that the training program in the British Racing School includes intensive exercises under the supervision of a group of international trainers and knights, and includes theoretical and practical training, in addition to the participation of the knights in a number of local races, with the aim of achieving the maximum possible benefit from the field experience, and enhancing their readiness to compete at the regional and international levels.
