The House of Representatives, headed by Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, has finally approved the draft amendment of the education law submitted by the government.
Approval of the amendments of the Education Law permanently
The amendment of the Education Law includes the creation of the baccalaureate system, according to which the student can choose to join any of the high school or the baccalaureate and emphasize that the baccalaureate system is optional and free of charge for 3 years.
The amendments also include not to prejudice the current high school system and that all systems are optional for students.
The amendments stipulated that obligate to allocate a percentage of the work of the year not exceeding 20% for students at the end of the basic education phase in a manner that ensures the elimination of the phenomenon of non -attendance of students, and to emphasize free education and reduce the powers of the executive authority in increasing the fees prescribed for the exam for the following times.
While Mohamed Abdel -Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, stressed that the ministry is ready to implement the baccalaureate system, explaining that secondary schools are equipped at the highest level in terms of infrastructure and technological equipment, based on what was monitored during field visits.
Minister Mohamed Abdel -Latif added that schools are equipped with modern laboratories, strong internet networks, and surveillance cameras that have been installed, but the real challenge during the past years was the weak presence of students and their regularity inside schools, adding that the ministry succeeded this year in returning the first and second secondary students to the study seats regularly, stressing that the application of the baccalaureate system will contribute greatly to attracting students and motivating them to adhere to the attendance.
