The Economic Development Council announced that it has been attracting investments exceeding 250 million US dollars from companies based in the United Kingdom during the past three years (2022-2024), and included a number of vital sectors, including financial services, information technology, communications, education and tourism.
This achievement is due to the growing gravity of Bahrain as a strategic investment destination, and also reflects the development of economic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom. This announcement came during the visit of a delegation from the Economic Development Council to the United Kingdom with the aim of highlighting investment opportunities in Bahrain in front of British companies and investors to attract more investors.
The visit was held by His Excellency Mrs. Nour Bint Ali Al -Khalif, Minister of Sustainable Development, CEO of the Economic Development Council, in which officials from the Council participated, during which they held work meetings with British investors, and participated in activities and meetings that dealt with the most prominent trends and developments of the industry and logistical services sectors.
In a statement to His Excellency Mrs. Nour Bint Ali Al -Khalif, Minister of Sustainable Development, CEO of the Economic Development Council: “Bahrain has strong global partnerships, especially in terms of economic and commercial cooperation. It represents an important achievement that enhances our cooperation in the areas of security, economic integration and technological innovation. “
Her Excellency added: “Bahrain is a reliable destination for British companies that seek growth in the Middle East, as it provides an encouraging business environment, flexible organizational regulations, and high -growth sectors. Such increased confidence from British investors is evidence of our firm partnership, which we look forward to enhancing and developing it.”
The Economic Development Council will organize, in cooperation with the famous media establishment “The Vinanashal Times”, two sessions on the formation of the next generation of industry and logistical services centers, where the galax will seek to introduce the most prominent global transformations in the field of customs recognition, supply chains, technology, and sustainability, with a focus on how to restore companies to the centers of industry and logistical services and work to improve Resources and increased response to market variables.
Bahrain’s established relationship with the United Kingdom included many priority sectors, as the two countries recently signed a partnership agreement that includes investments exceeding two billion pounds from the private sector in Bahrain, and target projects to reduce carbon emissions and sustainable development.
Non -oil bilateral trade witnessed a remarkable growth of 45% in 2024, to reach 645 million US dollars compared to $ 443 million in 2023. Among the prominent British banks and companies operating in Bahrain: Standard Chartard, HSBC, “Hauden”, “Deloitte”, “Ernest & Young”, “Rikit Benzer”, “Price Waterhouse Copers”, “Strichclaide” University, and the “Konixus Resources” group.
