In one of the episodes of the series “Tom and Jerry”, the owner of the house decided to replace “Tom” automatic robot. Tom at first rejoices, as all tasks are performed on his behalf. No effort, no thinking, or responsibility. But with the passage of time, he feels without value, as if his presence is no longer necessary.
That cartoon scene recently brought back to my mind, when I started noting that many young people depend on the tools of artificial intelligence, led by “Chat GBT”, in everything related to writing, thinking and analyzing.
I am not against technology, it is an irreplaceable necessity and reality. Rather, I write this article through a smart device whose size does not exceed the size of the hand. But what calls for concern is that a person leaves his mind aside, depends entirely on tools that you think about, decide for him and write instead of him.
Artificial intelligence is an effective tool if placed in the hands of a conscious person, but it becomes dangerous when his basic skills take him, and his ability to learn, try and wrong.
My message to the youth: Do not make artificial intelligence lead your minds towards laziness. They used support, no alternative. Take advantage of it, but do not lose your identity in the way of comfort and speed. The unusual mind is rusting.
The future, our youth, needs real minds, think, innovate, and decide. Do not put your minds with your hands on the shelf.
