Judicial sources said that the Public Prosecution in Damascus arrested Kinda Al -Shammat and Rima Al -Qadri, yesterday (Friday), who held the position of former Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and this is the first time since the transitional administration took over the government in Syria in which prominent officials were arrested in the Assad government.
The Public Prosecution also suspended Hanadi Khimi, Lami Al -Sawaf and Fida Al -Fandi, who held administrative positions in the “Life of Life Care Complex” in Damascus, in addition to Lama Al -Baba, who was running the “Al -Mabra Association for the sponsorship of orphans” with her sister Rana Al -Baba, at a time when the Public Prosecution released Miss Ajeeb, the director of the current “Melody of Life”, and considered it a witness after receiving a position Management shortly before the ousted system falls.
These arrests come after the decision of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Qabbat, to form a special investigation committee in following up the file of the missing children, on the second of this month, who are estimated at 3 thousand and 5 thousand children, in coordination and cooperation between the ministries of interior, justice and endowments in the current government, to determine the fate of thousands of children who were separated and absent from their families detained by the security services on charges of opposition to Assad.
Samer Al -Qarbi, the official spokesman for the “missing children’s committee”, pointed out in connection with the “Middle East”, that these measures come against the backdrop of charges of the Attorney General, of their involvement in cases related to the file of the loss of children of detainees in previous periods, and said: “We asked the official and civil authorities, as well as everyone who has any related information, in cooperation with the investigation committee, which contributes to determining the fate of these children and ensuring their rights to return The cream ».
Namely lists of absent children
In the latest development in the case of the absent children, the Syrian “Zaman Al -Wasl” website published a nominal list of 21 children of detainees and detainees, the Air Force Intelligence Department transferred them to the “Children’s Villages” school in Damascus, or into a role for orphans in Damascus and its countryside during the period between 2013 and 2021, and this site also published secret documents proving the involvement of security services to transport 300 girls from among the detainees to apartments Residential, or homes of officers describing officers who were in the security services, in order to hide and remove them from their families.
Judicial sources revealed that these suspicions are related to the period of the two ministers Kinda Al -Shammat and Rima Al -Qadri between 2013 and 2020, in the previous regime government, and according to the testimonies of female employees and workers in the role of orphans, security communications came in their entirety of the heads of the security services, according to a secret book of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor at the time, which in turn refers these children to the role of orphans, and gives instructions Strict, to prevent disclosure of the real name of the child, secure shelter and not to disclose his personal information under any circumstance.

According to judicial sources, the administration of these schools admitted that they in turn received 139 children without official documents and restrictions between 2014 and 2019, most of them returned to the Assad authorities, and asked the ministry at the time not to send such cases.
According to an official statement, which is published on its page, “The children who separated from their families during the Syrian conflict were placed in our care by the authorities without documenting their assets, and that these forced entries occurred until 2019, and after that we asked the authorities to stop sending children without documents.”

The leaked correspondence and documents did not include any indication of determining the fate of these children, but some information confirmed that a number of them returned to their families after the fall of Assad, and according to the documents of the “Syrian Network for Human Rights”, there are between 3 thousand and 5 thousand children whose fate is unknown to today.
It is noteworthy that Minister Kinda Al -Shammat received her ministerial position on February 9, 2013 and remained until August 20, 2015, while Rima Al -Qadri received her position on August 20, 2015 and occupied him until August 29, 2020, and during these years the intelligence services arrested hundreds of thousands of Syrians on charges of opposition to Assad, and the facts and judicial data indicate that all the official evidence during the period was dedicated to the period. By signing these two ministers, which enhances their direct responsibility for all these grave abuses against these children and their detainees.
