After Bahraini Abdullah Al -Madfai achieved his dream of ascending the summit of Mount Clemengaru, which rises 5985 meters, and with the slogan “On my back is a bag and in my heart an endless journey.” The artillery set out, challenging himself to the “ready” camp organized by the “Outward Bound Oman”, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in the Sultanate of Oman, and the Oman Oil Development Company, Stressing that challenging the soul and placing it in an unusual climate that contributes to achieving new matters that increase the individual’s satisfaction with himself and improve mental health, and most importantly, his self -confidence increases.
On his experience, Al -Madfai said to Al -Watan: “I have always loved a psychological challenge and the choice of experiences that drive me out of the comfort area, and for this I decided to join the (ready) camp organized by the (Outward Bound Oman) camp, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in the Sultanate and the Oman Oil Development Company.
And the “ready” camp is a field training program organized by the “Amman Challenge” organization aimed at developing the personal, professional and leadership youth skills through realistic experiences and challenges in a natural environment, away from technology and daily comfort.
“Before the start of the camp, my feeling was a mixture of enthusiasm, challenge and anticipation, because I knew that I was coming to a unique experience that would help me discover myself again.”
On the details of the camp, Al -Madfai said: “The camp was established in Jabal Al -Akhdar, specifically in the province of Nizwa in Al -Dakhiliya Governorate, which is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the Sultanate of Oman because of its cold climate and picturesque mountainous nature, and the region is famous for cultivating roses and producing well -known Omani rose water.”
He added: «What distinguished our participation in this camp is the complete separation from the digital world; Where we have delivered our phones to trainers from the first day, to live the experience with all its details and cut off from the dispersion imposed on us by smart devices, it was a unique experience in this time when our minds became addicted to the screens, which affected our ability to be creative and mental calm », stressing that“ moving away from the phone was a real opportunity to confront the self, dialogue with ourselves, and contemplate our depths away from our depth Digital noise.
On the most prominent experiences during his journey, Al -Madfai said: “One day I assumed the leadership of the team, and I learned how to ensure that everyone will participate effectively, while on another day I was the team doctor, keen on the safety of my colleagues by making sure to use sunscreen and wear hats to prevent the sun’s heat.” With regard to the most prominent of what he learned during his experience, Al -Madfai said: “One of the most prominent things I learned in the camp is the importance of organizing time; I realized that “I have no time” is just an excuse, for everything in our lives depends on the order of priorities and discipline. Our days were calculated in the minute: a time to rest, a time to sleep, and a time for food. This discipline made me review the way I deal with time and I believe that achieving goals is possible if we maintain this pattern of commitment, as I learned to install the tents and close them, and I was the team’s cook one day, which gave me an experience in organizing logistical aspects and distributing resources effectively to ensure their sustainability throughout the camp, a rich experience in every detail.
On his relationship with the participants, Al -Madfai said: “The dear Omani people are over the heart of every Bahraini, their beauty is evident at every moment we spent in the camp. Through my intercourse with them, I found an ambitious people, perseverance, life -loving, and driven to achieve their dreams in various ways, and clinging to development and growth in various aspects.
He added: «Our relationship as participants was more than wonderful; The various charisma and different backgrounds gathered us in one place, to become brothers before we are colleagues. Everyone in us added to the experience, and participated in his experiences and life stances, which made the camp a wealthy environment with intellectual and human exchange. ”
He continued: «One of the most beautiful things we learned from each other is the art of communicating observation and constructive criticism in a sophisticated way through (the theory of hamburger), where we start by mentioning a positive point, then we express a note that needs to be developed, and we conclude with a good word, which is an effective way that encourages development without frustration.
He said: «I felt the spirit of brotherhood and one team in each of the camp stations, especially during the hard heiks. In the middle of the road, and with our feeling of fatigue, everyone encouraged the other. This scene assured me that the presence of those who support us in moments of weakness make the difference, and that reaching the garden of success is not done without passing through the stations of challenges and difficulties.
Regarding the role of the coaches, Al -Madfai said: “The coaches had a great role in enriching our experience through their practical experiences. Coach Mazen Al -Rawahi, the mountain adventurer and public relations man, the owner of the high leader, inspired us with his renewed spirit and provided us with experiences rich in love and humility. As for coach Abdel -Hakim Al -Hassani, he is the spirit of a sea and an affiliated sports adventure, who loves marine sports, and he embodied his passion for sports in every step, inspiring them that the challenge is part of the trip. We took advantage of them a lot, as they instilled the idea that nothing is impossible, and that we are able to fulfill our dreams if we are disciplined and applied what we learned. They taught us that life is not fulfilled by wishing, but rather by application and continuous endeavor. ”
He stressed that the benefits that came out of the camp were large and rich, as he gained valuable personal skills such as how to determine personal goals clearly, and the importance of being effective and influential elements in work environments. It is also the importance of the spirit of one team and effective communication to achieve common goals. He added: “We participated in a workshop on writing personal goals while defining their time periods, which helped us to develop a clear plan for our future and achieve our ambitions systematically.”
