Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman secretly met with US President Donald Trump and other prominent officials at the White House on Thursday, to discuss efforts to calm tension with Iran, according to several sources of Fox News.
Prince Khalid, who is sometimes referred to as KBS, is the younger brother of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Several sources of the main political broadcaster in Fox News, Brett Bayer, reported that the meeting had already taken place, according to the sources, and the talks included discussions on calm with Iran and returning to the negotiating table, and also dealt with efforts to end the war in Gaza, and negotiate the release of the remaining hostages – whether they are alive or dead – and work to bring peace in the Middle East region.
Although the meeting was not fully dedicated to the issue of normalizing relations with Israel, the sources indicated that the conversation touched on the steps necessary to achieve this.
The sources also indicated that there is progress and optimism on all fronts, and added that Saudi Arabia is working to complete a defensive and commercial agreement with the United States, and that the common message between the two allies countries is to comply with visions in various issues.
This meeting comes days after Trump’s statement that other countries expressed their desire to join Abraham’s agreements, amid recent developments in the Middle East, which witnessed Israel and the United States curbing Iranian nuclear ambitions during the 12 -day war.
