The United States carried out more than a week ago strikes on major nuclear facilities in Iran using 14 supernatural bombing.
These bombs known as “GBU -57” have received great global attention due to their massive destructive capabilities. However, the identity of its inventor is not known to many.
Who is the inventor of these supernatural bombs?
According to the American newspaper “The New York Times”, these bombs were invented by a 65 -year -old woman, Anna Dong, who is a Vietnamese refugee, who escaped from the city of Sigon to Washington at the time of the Vietnam War.
Dong from the childhood of Vietnam’s war began to a US Navy ammunition laboratory at the gate of her parents ’house in Sigon in the late 1960s when she was almost seven years old.
Her father was a high -level agricultural official in the anti -Communist Vietnam government.
Her brother was a pilot of helicopters at South Vietnam, and he was leaving the family home to go to a mission, when Dong entered a wave of crying, and she wished that her brother would have a “magic stick that gives him the best weapon, and would be more sophisticated to be able to win and return safely,” she said.
This scene was repeated repeatedly during the long war, and in the end the girl was cut off at the gate, a promise to herself, saying: “If the American soldiers protected me and my family, I will do what I can to return the favor to them.”
In April 1975, while Segon was about to fall into the hands of the Northern Vietnamese, the brother of Dong and another helicopter connected to her, her parents, brothers and the rest of her family to a southern Vietnamese ship heading to the Philippines.
From the Philippines, the family ended in the first Baptist Church in Washington, DC.
“We came here with poor refugees, and we met with many generous and good Americans,” Dong said. I renewed the Americans ’assistance to us and welcomed us with my determination to return the favor to them.”
The Church inhabited Dong and her family in an apartment in the nearby suburb of Maryland.
Dong graduated in 1982, with honors from Maryland University with a certificate in chemical engineering. After that, she obtained a master’s degree in the public administration from the American University, then joined a civil scientific job in the navy.
By 2001, Dong became the director of the advanced development department of uninteresting ammunition in the “Indian Head” department of the Marine Surface War Center, in Charles Province, Maryland.
It had already started working on the explosives that were eventually used in Afghanistan after the September 11, 2001 attacks, as it became the leader of a team of American army scientists who made an explosive material from the same family of the supercompan of the fortifications used in Iran.
This bomb was “Blu-118/B”, a laser bomb designed for the deep hacking of narrow places such as underground tunnels that were sheltering al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.
The word Blu is an abbreviation of Bomb Live Unit, that is, the unit of live bombs.
This bomb was repeatedly used in Afghanistan, and it is attributed to it and its inventor by others in shortening the longest war fought by the United States.
GBU – 57 bomb
Before designing the Blu-118/B bomb, Mrs. Dong and her team were working on a new generation of “high-performance and sensitive explosives, which could withstand the risk of traffic through the layers of rocks or construction walls before the explosion.”
These explosives were part of those used in the supernatural bomb, which is officially known as “GBU -57”, which the United States used in Iran.
12 GBU -57 bomb was thrown on the Iranian nuclear site in Fordo, located in the depths of a mountain, while two other channels were thrown at the nuclear facility in Natanz.
The effect of bombs on the Iranian nuclear program
US President Donald Trump insisted that the attack “destroyed” Iranian nuclear installations, and threatened to prosecute news institutions that raised doubts about this matter, although some of these institutions were martyred in a intelligence report that the Iran program may have delayed only a few months.
Commenting on this, Dong said it could not be measured by the success of the bomb by Washington or Israel, or even Tehran.
And she said, “Think about it. You entered and bombed an underground nuclear facility. It is not safe to send anyone to that facility. I think it will take a long time before any real and personal evaluation. ”
Motivating violence or shortening the war?
Despite the heavy losses of it during the Vietnam War, Dong does not see any contradiction between the violence that it suffered from and its work in developing enormous explosives.
“High -tech bombs can help reduce land fighting and shorten wars. My first duty was to ensure the return of our American soldiers from the battles. I wanted to do everything I could to help them win. ”
