The team, Ahmed Khaled Hassan Saeed, the governor of Alexandria, continued the progress of work in the plan to rationalize electricity consumption in all governmental and public installations and commercial stores at the governorate level, in light of the state’s keenness to manage energy resources efficiently and enhance the principles of sustainability.
Reducing energy consumption by 40% of the total lighting poles
The implementation of the rationalization plan has started as of June 17, 2025, and has so far included reducing energy consumption by 40% of the total lighting poles at the governorate level, in addition to providing 10% of the total electricity used in the luminous advertising boards within the framework of the rationalization of consumption.
In this context, the governor of Alexandria stressed that the state attaches the utmost importance to manage energy resources effectively, and works to activate a comprehensive plan to rationalize consumption without affecting the quality of services provided to citizens. While taking care of the strict daily follow -up to ensure the implementation of the directions accurately, and to deal with firmly with any violation.
With regard to adhering to the dates of the closing of the shops, 358 stores were closed contrary to the specified controls, with the collection of financial fines worth 395,000 pounds, in the context of maintaining general discipline and achieving the goals of the plan.
The Central Operations and Control Center in the governorate continues the accurate daily follow -up to implement the electricity rationalization plan, in coordination with the various concerned authorities, to ensure full commitment and achieve the desired results.
