The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, represented by the Public Authority for Veterinary Services, revealed the continuation of efforts to intensify the inspection and control campaigns on markets, places of supply and sale of meat and their products in various governorates during the month of June.
Dr. Hamed Al -Aqsas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Veterinary Services, said that this comes in implementation of the directives of Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and under the supervision of Eng. Mustafa Al -Sayyad, Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Livestock Affairs, by intensifying campaigns in order to protect the health of citizens, and ensure the safety of food with animal origin circulating in the markets, in a way that contributes to strengthening the food security system and achieving the highest quality and safety standards.
The seizure of 122 tons of spoiled meat and the editing of 1,553 minutes during June
The sniper pointed out that the intensive campaigns carried out by the directorates of veterinary medicine in the governorates during last June resulted in the seizure of 122.12 tons of meat, poultry, corrupt fish and not suitable for human consumption, where 1,553 minutes were edited regarding violators, and referred them to the investigation authorities to take legal measures in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The head of the authority affirmed the continuation of inspection and control campaigns in all governorates of the Republic, in cooperation with the Supply Investigations and various supervisory bodies, to control any violations that threaten the health of citizens, and to reduce the circulation of animal products that do not match the health specifications.
