“Social Insurance”: The “private” subscribers are the weakness of the “public” subscribers in the first quarter

The number of Bahraini subscribers in social insurance for the first quarter of this year in the private sector exceeded the weakness of their counterparts in the public sector, while the number of those who decided early retirement exceeded 5 times the regular retirement, as the percentage of early people reached 85% compared to 15% for regular retirement. The number of Bahraini subscribers until the first quarter of this year reached 155596 subscribers, with 33% in the public sector, and 67% in the private sector, while the number of living pensioners for the same period reached 84,862 Bahraini, with 43% for the public sector

And 57% for the private, and the number of beneficiaries was 25023 due by 47% in the public sector, and 53% in the private.

According to the statistical report issued by the General Authority for Social Insurance for the first quarter of this year, the average salaries of Bahraini subscribers reached 912 dinars at the average age of 36 years, and the average salaries of living pensioners were 825 dinars and an average age of 58 years, while the average of those who are entitled to “sons, widows and other groups” reached 375 dinars.

While the average monthly salary in the public sector for males was “1019 dinars” close to females “938 dinars”, the difference in the private sector has expanded between them, as the average male salaries were 972 dinars, and females are 719 dinars. Likewise, the average monthly salary for male living pensioners reached 1085 dinars, compared to 992 dinars for females, in the public sector, while the average for living pensioners male the private sector was 743 dinars, compared to 480 dinars for females.

However, the situation was reflected in the average monthly pension for those who are entitled to the two sectors, as it decreased in the public sector for males to 336 dinars, compared to 450 dinars for females, and decreased in the private sector for males to 234 dinars in exchange for 341 dinars for females.

The public and private sectors witnessed an increase in the number of Bahraini subscribers for the first quarter of this year by 2% compared to its counterpart from the year 2024, and the number of insured during the past five years in the two sectors increased by 7%. The proportion of the numbers of living pensioners decreased for the first quarter of 2025, by a small rate of 1% compared to the quarter -quarter for the past year, which is also what happened in the private sector, but with an imperfect decrease of only 0.3%, and the percentage of the number of those eligible for the same period decreased by 2% for the public sector, but it increased in the private sector by 3%.

The percentage of children acquired the lion’s share in the number of those who are entitled to the deceased, as it reached 48% for the public sector, and 46% for the private, followed by the widows category with two rates of 43% and 40% for the public and private, respectively, while the other groups were the least, as it was 9% for the public sector and 14% for the private.
