The two teams to qualify

Bayern had already tried to qualify for the round of 16 after its victory over the New Zealand City 10-0 and Boca Juniors Argentine 2-1 in his first two games in the group stage, and Kompany did not risk his players against Benfica in light of the high temperatures in America, where he comforted most of his basic formation against his Portuguese rival to lose with a goal.

This was the first defeat of Bayern since he lost the first leg of the Champions League quarter -finals against Inter Milan, in early April.

On the other hand, Flamingo entered the round of 16 with unparalleled confidence in the championship, after easily qualified for the exclusionary roles, kissing seven points to take the lead of his group after his victory over Esperance and Chelsea in the first two games before drawing with Los Angeles FC.
