Days after the ceasefire between the two parties, the judiciary in Iran announced today, Sunday, that the attack launched by Israel on June 23 on Evin Prison in the capital, Tehran, killed at least 71 people.
“According to official figures, 71 people were killed in the attack on Evin Prison,” the judiciary spokesman, Asghar Jahangir, said, referring to the strike on Monday, the highly fortified complex and located in the north of Tehran in the context of the war between Israel and Iran, which started on June 13 and lasted 12 days.
In comments carried by the Mizan News Agency of the Judicial Authority, it was killed in the attack on Evin Prison, 71 people, including administrative staff and young men who performed their military service, prisoners and members of the prisoners’ families who were visiting them, and neighbors who live in the vicinity of the prison.
Earlier, Jahangir stated that parts of the administrative building of Evin prison in the capital, Tehran, were damaged by the Israeli raid that targeted it.
Evin prison is located in the northwest of Tehran, which is a huge compound, strongly fortified and well -known among human rights activists.
