Dr. Adel Abdul Rahman Al -Ma’wada, a member of the Shura Council, participated in the work of the fifth (final) plenary session for the first session of the fourth legislative term of the Arab Parliament, which was held on Saturday, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, headed by Muhammad bin Ahmed Al -Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament.
Al -Ma’idah appreciated the efforts of the Arab Parliament during the first session, and what was accomplished at the level of Arab coordination in political and legislative files, noting that the Kingdom of Bahrain, and through its active participation, confirms its firm support to enhance the joint Arab parliamentary work, and to adopt unified visions that serve the higher Arab interests.
Al -Ma’awidah emphasized that the meeting reflected the extent of Arab interaction with the fundamental issues, noting that the session discussed a number of vital issues, including developments in the Palestinian territories, regional tensions, the importance of the continued ceasefire in the region, avoiding military conflicts, and working to make the region free of weapons of mass destruction.
The closing session came as a culmination of the role of parliamentary activities, where the session discussed the reports of the four permanent committees of the Arab parliament, among them the Foreign, Political and National Security Committee, in which Sheikh Dr. Al -Ma’awida participated, in addition to the reports of the legislative, economic and social committees, and the report of the Palestine Committee, and the visit made by a delegation from the Arab Parliament headed by Muhammad bin Ahmed The Arab Parliament to the border area of Rafah, to determine the extent of the suffering and the tragedies that the Palestinian people suffer in Gaza.
The session also discussed the outputs of the meeting held and parallel to the Arab Summit held in Baghdad, in addition to a number of strategic issues, the most prominent of which are: an Arab vision to enhance preventive parliamentary diplomacy, preparation for a conference to support the blue economy, the draft law to combat illegal immigration, and a guiding document on enabling social entrepreneurship and productive families, as well as a vision to develop e -learning in the Arab world.
