The Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, announced that the Israeli army ended this week the operation of a “people like the lion” that targeted the removal of an existential threat to Israel, stressing that the operation achieved its goals and caused great harm to the Iranian nuclear project.
Gaza is still the main front
Despite the operation against Iran, Zamir stressed that Gaza remains the “central scene”, noting that the army will soon reach the interim targets within the “Gideon vehicles” operation, and from which new plans will be presented at the political level. He said: “We will continue to fight to achieve two goals: liberalizing the hostages and eliminating Hamas.”
Painful losses in the ranks of the army
The Chief of Staff expressed his grief over the fall of seven soldiers from the Engineering Unit of the 188th Brigade this week during the battles in Gaza, stressing that the army will conduct a detailed investigation into the accident.
