On the international level, the United Nations report for 2023 reveals that about 296 million people suffer from drug use, with a noticeable increase of 23% during the last decade, and the emergence of fatal substances such as “fentanel” that have caused renewable health and legal crises, showed that drug control is no longer a local or regional task only, but a global issue that requires integrated cooperation and multidimensional strategies.
Therefore, building the specialized justice system is not a goal in itself, but rather a tool within a comprehensive national strategy. From this standpoint, Bahrain is working to update its judicial structure by establishing the specialized prosecution, training legal cadres, and promoting international coordination, while raising the level of public awareness, these accelerating steps reflect serious and foreseeable for a stable and safe situation.
However, we cannot neglect that the success of these efforts requires the concerted parts of all concerned parties: the judiciary, the police, health, media, education, and civil society, because the battle against drugs is an existential battle that requires more than solid legal measures, but rather a comprehensive national mentality that invests in humans and protects him.
In this field, there is no room for neutrality, but rather a field for the honorable race, where the leadership lies for those who possess the will, and for those who combine firmness, wisdom, law and mercy, the homelands are not protected by slogans, but rather are chosen with conscious minds, advanced justice, and pronouns that do not sleep.
And as His Majesty the King, may God protect him, said: “Man is the focus of development and the basis of homeland security and stability.” Therefore, protecting this person from the scourge of drugs is not an option, but rather a continuous national duty that does not know a break or retreat.
