Today, Saturday morning, elections for the selection of members of the Supreme Council for Sufi Roads will be held to choose 10 members representing the sheikhs of the roads, from ten in the morning until twelve noon, at the headquarters of the General Sheikh of Sufi orders, under the supervision of the committee formed from Cairo Governorate, headed by the Governor of Cairo or his representative.
These elections are an important organizational station in the history of the sheikhdom, where 14 candidates compete for 10 seats for the Sufi orders sheikhs in the Supreme Council, which includes alongside these elected members, both the Sheikh of the Sufi Roads Sheikhs as President of the Council, and representatives of both Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, and ministries: endowments, interior, culture, and local development.
Supreme Sufi orders
The General Assembly, which includes 70 members of the elders of the Sufi orders, takes the task of electing members, in an atmosphere that prevails in the spirit of honorable competition and the desire to serve Sufism and its disciples. Due to the absence of local popular councils, the Council of Ministers decided to appoint an alternative committee from Cairo Governorate to supervise the electoral process and ensure its integrity and transparency.

For his part, the Sheikh of the Sufi orders of the Sufi orders, Dr. Abdul Hadi Al -Qasabi, affirmed that these elections represent a true translation of the values of Sufism based on recommendation, impartiality and community service, noting that the aim of this entitlement is to compete in upholding the values of Sufism and fortifying science and knowledge to serve the country and citizens, within the framework of national unity and loyalty to the Egyptian state and its institutions.
He added: “We believe that the correct Sufism is an impenetrable fortress in the face of extremism and deviation, and these elections are established for the march of collective action and participation in decision -making in a way that serves the spiritual and moral values represented by the people of Sufism throughout history.”
Ahmed Qandil: The elections are the culmination of the democratic path within the sheikhdom
In a statement, Ahmed Qandil, the spokesperson for the General Sheikhdom of Sufi Roads, said that the current elections reflect a state of awareness and responsibility among the sheikhs of the Sufi orders, stressing that the vote for the selection of the ten members is an important step to consolidate institutional work and active participation in the Department of Sufism.
Qandil added that the public sheikhdom, led by Dr. Abdul Hadi Al -Qasabi, is keen to ensure transparency and adhere to the legal rules organizing the electoral process, stressing that the names presented are all known for their efficiency, science and long history in the service of the moderate mystical mystical approach.
The spokesman for the sheikhdom pointed out that the competition between the candidates is essentially racing in the fields of science, advocacy and values, saying: “This is not just organizational elections, but a milestone to confirm the role of Sufism in protecting society from extremism, and enhancing the values of tolerance, compassion and belonging to the homeland.”
