A phone call was made between Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration with “Jean -Nawil Barrow”, France Foreign Minister, on Thursday evening, June 26, where communication dealt with regional developments and ways to enhance distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
Acknowledging the Palestinian state
Ambassador Tamim Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the two ministers discussed developments in the Gaza Strip after reaching the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, as they confirmed the importance of resuming the ceasefire in Gaza, and the enforcement of humanitarian and relief aid to the sector in light of the sharp deterioration of the humanitarian conditions in the Strip.
For his part, Minister Abdel Ati reviewed the relentless efforts made by Egypt, Qatar and the United States to quickly reach the ceasefire in Gaza and ensure its sustainability, stressing the need for the international community to play in turn to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank.
The two ministers also dealt with the issue of recognition of the Palestinian state, where Minister Abdel -Ati listened to his French counterpart to developments related to the high -level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the application of the two -state solution headed by France and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The spokesperson added that the two ministers agreed to the importance of Iran and Israel completely committing to the ceasefire and the importance of taking practical and concrete measures that contribute to reducing the escalation and opening the way for political and diplomatic paths.
On the other hand, the two ministers praised the strategic relations between Egypt and France, and affirmed the common concern to enhance all aspects of bilateral relations and advance them to wider horizons.
