The signing of the memo comes as a culmination of intensive discussions and meetings that lasted for two years, which started since the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency in 2023, as a series of bilateral discussions were held to determine the areas of priority cooperation.

The memo aims to enhance the exchange of technical expertise and best organizational practices, and to implement joint programs to build capabilities in issues of common concern, in line with international standards and modern nuclear safety requirements.

This step confirms the commitment of the Nuclear and Radiological Supervision Authority to develop the national organizational structure and expand the network of international partnerships, in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of the nuclear safety system in Egypt, and enhances the authority’s ability to keep pace with global developments in this vital field.

The authority relies on this partnership in supporting its efforts to ensure the safe and peaceful use of nuclear energy, and to expand the prospects for technical and scientific cooperation with its international partners, in order to serve common interests and enhance Egypt’s regional and international status in the nuclear field.
