Al -Watan newspaper participated in an official delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain in the twenty -sixth academic session of officials from the Arab countries, which was hosted by the cities of Shanghai and Hangzhou in the friendly Republic of China, organized by the China -Arab Studies Center for Reform and Development, and in cooperation with the Shanghai University for International Studies, and in direct coordination from the Chinese embassy to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The newspaper represented in this session, Issa Al -Professor, Director of Institutional Communication and Business Development, as the first representative from the Bahraini media sector to be invited to participate by the Chinese side, which reflects confidence in the newspaper “Al -Watan” as a national media partner active in international representation, and as an institution to keep pace with reform and development issues.
The program witnessed a series of lectures and dialogue sessions that dealt with the axes of reform, economic development, governance and regional integration, presented by a number of officials and experts, most notably Wang Guangda, Secretary General of the China -Arab Studies Center, and Chang Yogwi, member of the Academic Committee of the International Financial Forum, where the Chinese experience was reviewed in the digital transformation of financial markets, and the initiatives of cooperation with Arab countries.
The program also included field visits to strategic institutions, among them Bodong Development Bank, Zihhyun robots, and the headquarters of the Permanent Committee of the People’s Assembly in Shanghai, as well as visits to Hangzhou, which is one of the most prominent technical and cultural cities in China, where the delegation was briefed on advanced models for institutional innovation and sustainable development.
At the end of the session, an official ceremony was held to distribute certificates to the participants, in the presence of the university representatives and the organized center, amid a tribute to the role of the Bahraini delegation and the affirmation of the importance of this type of knowledge exchange between the Arab and Chinese sides.
Issa Al -Professor stressed that the participation of “Al -Watan” in this international program was a rich experience and a qualitative opportunity to expand the horizons of media and institutional cooperation, and to explore new opportunities that enhance the ability of the Bahraini media to keep pace with global developments and active participation in the knowledge industry.
