The need to enhance the concepts of national unity and awareness is a necessity, not luxury, as it is essential in building homelands and their remaining coherent.
It is the safety valve in the face of everything that might threaten the cohesion of societies and the stability of countries. From this standpoint, the word of the strong man, His Excellency the Minister of the Interior, the first team, Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, came during his meeting with those in charge of the Husseini processions, loaded with messages that exceed the moment, to put everyone in front of national responsibilities that cannot be tolerated.
The emphasis was necessary on the importance of awareness and discipline, especially in light of the regional tensions taking place in the region, as the minister stressed that the Ashura season should remain a spiritual and social occasion, not an arena for political interpretations or exploitation.
This message is clear in its content, and it came to remember that belonging to the homeland is not tested in easy situations, but rather in the moments that require a lifting of narrow interests and the prevalence of the national interest.
Bahrain is not only a homeland for everyone, but a country that can tolerate and embrace all its components, without discrimination or exception. This is a strong sentence that the minister has established by emphasizing that the Husseini funerals and processions are an inherent part of the identity of Bahraini society, and its ancient history, and that the Bahraini is always the people of national responsibility.
Here we must realize that the Bahrain unit is not built by the exclusion of anyone, but rather by strengthening the ties that collect and not separate. But this unity, as the minister indicated, can only flourish in a climate of discipline, respect for laws, and to stay away from politicizing religious occasions.
In parallel to these messages, we find that the great efforts made by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs these days reflect another model of national responsibility. As in the tense atmosphere in the region and the danger of threats, the humanitarian role of the Ministry has emerged remarkably, represented in the evacuation of Bahraini citizens stranded there, and here we are talking about huge numbers, which need tremendous efforts.
This role was not merely a diplomatic response, but rather the embodiment of Bahrain’s philosophy that the citizen is the highest value, and that his security and safety is above all. And it is Bahrain, which does not give up the security and safety of one of its sons.
The cadres of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which operates silently and dedicated, day and night in airports and ports, represent the first line of defense on the image of Bahrain, not only at the political level, but also on the human level. This commitment is inseparable from the broader vision of the state, which sees that citizenship is a mutual responsibility, from the state towards the citizen, and from the citizen towards his homeland. Also emphasized on our inner safety valve, through the great efforts made by the Ministry of Interior’s affiliates in preserving the security of our dear soil and the generous Bahraini people, and everyone who lives on this good land.
Security is not only made by devices, but is made by collective awareness, when every individual in society realizes that stability begins with his daily behavior, from his respect for the law, and his keenness not to be a party in a discourse that fuel or separates.
Protection of Bahrain is a collective responsibility, and its image abroad begins from its harmony inside. And between the sincere word from the Minister of the Interior, and the hard effort of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a clear equation is evident to us, which is the equation of the national partnership that should not change, as “the state undertakes its responsibilities, and it remains that we, citizens, are as confident.”
