President Tharan Shanmogranam, President of the Republic of Singapore, met with Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, Mufti of the Republic, Head of the General Secretariat of the role and advisory bodies in the world, as part of his official visit to Singapore, which is witnessing an intense activity in supporting religious and scientific relations between the two countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Singapore President expressed his great appreciation and pride in the Arab Republic of Egypt, leadership and people, praising the role of Al -Azhar as a beacon of science and moderation, and what the Egyptian Fatwa House represents from a solid and medium reference in the field of advisory, and an institution capable of contributing to the stability of societies, and protecting generations from the waves of extremism and terrorism.
The President affirmed the depth of the relations that bring together Egypt and Singapore, appreciating Egypt’s concrete efforts in supporting global issues, and enhancing the values of coexistence and openness to the other, pointing to Singapore’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Egypt in various fields, especially in the scientific, cultural and economic fields, stressing that it will arrange a close visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt; In support of this trend and an expression of the depth of bilateral relationships.
