The Israeli army spokesman confirmed that the air defense systems are working to intercept the missiles, calling on citizens to immediately adhere to the instructions of the internal front leadership and stay in the protected areas until further notice.
The attack coincided with the sirens of alarm in Tel Aviv and central Israel.
Pictures circulating on social media showed great destruction in the city of Beersheba, in southern Israel, where Iranian missiles have caused severe damage to buildings and facilities.
Israeli medical sources reported that 3 people were killed in a preliminary toll, with the possibility of a high number of victims as a result of the continued rescue operations.
