In the early hours of Tuesday, June 24, 2025, an unidentified plane targeted a location inside the Taji Military camp, north of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
The Baghdad Operations Commander said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency that the attack was carried out by an unknown source plane, noting that preliminary investigations are underway to determine the executing authority and the nature of targeting.
According to eyewitnesses, an explosion was heard inside the camp, followed by the escalation of smoke columns from a building, with tight security measures in the vicinity of the region. There were no immediate reports of significant human or material losses.
It is noteworthy that the Taji camp is one of the main military bases in Iraq, and it includes Iraqi forces and advisers from the international coalition.
