US Vice President JD Verse said on Monday that Iran was no longer able to make a nuclear weapon after the American strikes destroyed its infrastructure.
“Iran was about to have a nuclear weapon … and now it is unable to make a nuclear weapon with the equipment it possesses because we destroyed it,” De Vans said in an interview with Fox News.
“If Iran wants to build a nuclear weapon in the future, it will have to deal with the US military again,” the US official added.
On Monday, US President Donald Trump announced an agreement on a full ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
“After 24 hours, the official end of the war between Israel and Iran will be,” Trump said in a post on his account in “Truth Social”.
According to Trump, the ceasefire between Israel and Iran “officially begins at 4 pm on Tuesday’s dawn GMT.”
The American president continued, “We prevented a war that would extend for years.”
He stressed that “the war between Iran and Israel would have destroyed the region if it continued. I would like to congratulate the two countries, Israel and Iran, for their possession, courage and intelligence to end what should be called the Twelve War.”
Trump concluded his post by saying: “God bless Israel, Iran and the Middle East.”
