Sayed Talib Al -Darazi, the owner of the Al -Nasr Travel Office, stressed the market in practice after a number of customers canceled their flights as a result of the suspension of some airlines operating their lines to Iran, Iraq and some unsafe areas, which entailed the recovery of ticket amounts, especially for trips to Iraq and Jordan.
He explained that some flights are still in place, but they take longer and more expensive paths, which makes it difficult to recover their entire value as long as the airlines have not stopped operating them officially.
Al -Darazi indicated that the conversion to “safe” alternative trips remains very weak; Most travelers prefer to stay inside Bahrain and postpone their plans until the stability of the political situation.
For his part, Sadiq Al -Yaqoub from Al -Firdaws stated that the weak demand prompted the offices to reduce the prices of travel packages, but the cost of flights on the travel offices increased due to changing the paths after the closure of the atmosphere of several countries, which put the agencies between the jaws of high cost and the customers’ reluctance.
He pointed out that trips took a short time to destinations such as Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, which takes almost twice the period, as it took two hours and fifty minutes, while it became six hours in the current circumstances and it is an additional factor that praises the majority of customers even from the safe destinations. In turn, the Path Travel Office explained that Iran and Russia’s trips have stopped completely, while some reservations turned into the Turkish city of Trabzon, which has become the most popular destination after suspending insecure destinations.
The office pointed out that a segment of travelers canceled its plans, and chose to stay in Bahrain, expecting the continuation of the anticipation of customers unless the political escalation in the region will continue.
