Google has announced an important update of the Google Drive app on the Android system that includes a new interface for the video player in addition to significant improvements in the way files upload.
The new changes come within the framework of the company’s efforts to update and improve the user experience on smartphones, and make it close with what the web version offers.
A smoother and clear video operator
One of the most prominent features in the new update is the designed video player interface, which has become similar to what Drive offers via the web.
The changes transmit control tools to be at the bottom of the video instead of its overlapping over it, which facilitates interaction with it and makes the experience more clear, and users can control the operating speed, activate the translation and enter the screen filling mode more easily.
This new design was first monitored in March this year during the application code analysis of the application, but it was not officially available, and today the update began gradually to all Google Drive users on Android.
A more controlled and flexible files experience
In addition to improving the video playback, the file upload tool has got an important update, and now the user can rename the file and determine the destination folder immediately before starting the upload process, and a visual progress tape has been added that helps to track the completion of the lifting easily.
The improvements include a new tab called “lifting” that allows users to track files that are still being uploaded, in addition to viewing the recently downloaded files record.
Available to everyone
Google has confirmed that these updates are now available to all Google Workspace users, in addition to ordinary users who have personal accounts on Google Drive, these modifications seek to provide a more flexible and ease experience, whether to watch content or organize files and download them from the phone.
